Released in 2010, Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions revolved around four different Spider-Men fighting across multiple dimensions to put a stop to Mysterio, who had shattered a powerful mystical tablet at the start of the story.

Shattered Dimensions actually predated the original Spider-Verse comic from 2014 as well, making it somewhat ahead of its time. Unlike other Spider-Man games, which have mostly been open-world since the release of 2004's Spider-Man 2, Shattered Dimensions returned to a linear format and brought four different incarnations of the wall-crawler together, taken from the pages of Spider-Man 2099, Amazing Spider-Man, Spider-Man Noir, and Ultimate Spider-Man respectively. The wait for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse might now be longer than anticipated, with Sony recently announcing that the sequel has been delayed to 2023, but playing Beenox's underrated Spider-Man: Shattered Dimension s may help in the meantime.
